Shipwrecks and Their Coins, Vol. 1 — The Atocha: The 1622 Spanish Treasure Fleet

• Authors: Ernie Richards
• Edition: En Rada Publications [confirm]
• Subjects: Wreck, Cobs, History
• Level: Collector, Specialist

What it is

The first volume in Ernie Richards's shipwreck-and-coin series, covering the 1622 Spanish treasure fleet — the loss of the Nuestra Señora de Atocha and Santa Margarita, the salvage record, and the coins recovered from those wrecks.

Why it matters

Richards is the long-running editor behind the Plus Ultra shipwreck-coin literature; this volume ties the 1622 wreck history directly to the coin types that come off it, which is exactly the link a buyer needs when checking an Atocha-era attribution.

Who it's for

Collectors and researchers working on 1622 fleet coins and salvage provenance.
